Horse Care
Whether you are a rider or just enjoy being with horses, knowing how to care for them is an important part of building a partnership.
Our Horse Care sessions offer the chance to learn more about all aspects of being with and caring for a horse.
Sessions are tailored to each individuals needs, abilities and experience. You can take part in a one-off taster session or book a course of sessions to develop your skills and knowledge.
Horse care sessions are suitable for beginners and those with more equine experience. Normally sessions are run for small groups so that you can enjoy learning alongside someone else.
We’re currently offering 4 week blocks of 30 minute group sessions for those wanting to develop their equestrian skills. Topics covered include:
🐴 Grooming
🐴 Horse health & welfare
🐴 Horse knowledge
🐴 Stable & field management
🐴 Ground based exercise - lunging & long reining

Getting started at Scropton Horse Centre
If you’re interested in taking part in activities at our centre the first thing you’ll need to do is fill in a participant form. This will give us all the information we need about you and what you would like to do. The participant form is the same whether you are interested in activities for those with additional needs or mainstream activities.
Once you’ve submitted your form we’ll have a look at what sessions we have available that would suit you and we’ll get in touch with you to let you know what we can offer you.
