Holiday Activities at Scropton
We’ve got some great activities taking place this
‘Have a go’ taster sessions : Tuesday 28th May, 11.30am-12.30pm or 12.30-1.30pm
Want to try something different? New to ponies and don’t know where to start? Our ‘have a go’ sessions might be just what you’re looking for.
Each ‘have a go’ session will last an hour and will include
🐴 A tour of the centre to meet the ponies
🐴 A horse care taster session to find out more about how to look after a pony
🐴 A horse agility taster session to learn about working on the move with a pony
A riding taster session to see how you feel in the saddle
These 'Have a go' sessions are open to all abilities and are suitable for participants with additional needs. There is a 13st weight limit for riding but if you don't want to ride you can have extra time doing horse care and agility. Please dress suitably for spending time around horses in an outdoor environment.

Pony Sensory Sessions : Wednesday 29th May, various times
Come along for a special sensory experience:
🐴 Enjoy some time up close with a pony, enjoying the feel, smell, sound and warmth of them.
🐴 Option to do some simple grooming & stroking.
🐴 Visit our new sensory stable to experience some of the sights, sounds and textures of a pony’s world.
These therapeutic sensory sessions are suitable for a wide variety of needs. No previous experience of horses necessary. Dress suitably for being around ponies.
We have a variety of times available for 30 minute sessions - please email us for more specific information or call on 01283 812753 £15 per participant
Pony Pamper Parlour : Wednesday 29th May, 1-2.30pm
Our ponies love a pampering so will be looking forward to this session!

🐴 Pony bathtime (providing its warm enough!)
🐴 Pony accessories
This session is open to all participants with the option for parents/carers to join in too! Dress suitably for bathing ponies!
After the ponies have been pampered to their best, there’'ll be time for everyone to relax in the coffee bar and be treated to tea & cake.

Pony Morning : Thursday 30th May, 9.30am - 12.30pm
Come and join us for a morning of Ponies, Ponies, Ponies!
🐴 Learn more about caring for your pony on the yard
🐴 Work with your pony to get to know them better
🐴 Enjoy a holiday ride on your pony
Open to all riders of all abilities. Riders will be grouped by ability for some of the activities. Dress suitably for being out on the yard.

For any rider who would like to book in for both this activity and the Games session on 30/5 and would like to stay all day on the yard there will be a £5 discount on the combined price of the two activities. please bring a packed lunch
Games, Games, Games! : Thursday 30th May, 1.30-4pm
Looking to do something a bit different? Enjoy playing games? Have you tried playing games with ponies?
🐴 Partner with a pony and take part in a variety of games as a team
🐴 Compete against other teams
🐴 Enjoy the fun and challenge of mounted games
This activity is suitable to ASN and MS riders of all abilities. Teams will be grouped by ability.

Countryside Challenge practice : Friday 31st May 10.30am - 12.30pm
Come along and have a go at riding our Countryside Challenge obstacle course:
🐴 Learn how to work with your pony to ride an obstacle course
🐴 Develop your communication skills with your pony to improve your accuracy and control
🐴 Have fun challenging yourself and your pony
Countryside Challenge riding is suitable for all riding levels and can be done on a lead rein.
This activity is ideal for any ASN riders competing in the RDA Countryside Challenge.
